Our History

Fitzpatrick & Culic, as the firm is currently titled, was established in 1981. After graduating from the Osgoode Hall School of Law and being called to the bar, Clinton H. Culic began his career in Toronto but quickly became disillusioned by the culture of big firms and corporate structuring on Bay Street. As a result, he moved from Toronto to Brockville and took over the firm of Fitzpatrick & Eastman from its retiring partner, Gerald Eastman.

The firm has a long and storied history of succeeding lawyers continuing the Brockville-area practice dating back to the 1830s. In fact, one of the original partners in the firm was the uncle of the first Supreme Court Chief Justice of Canada.
